Sustainability is an issue close to our heart and ECTRIMS consistently maintains a strong focus on sustainable conferencing. Conferences are associated with high energy consumption, high waste production and increased traffic volumes. ECTRIMS is committed to undertake all possible measures to minimise the impact of our congresses on our environment.

ECTRIMS 2021 Donates 1 EURO for each Delegate

This year – in light of the Annual Congress being held digitally due to the COVID-19 pandemic – ECTRIMS decided to refocus its donation strategy to provide local MS support to Vienna, Austria, where the congress was originally scheduled to take place.

For every delegate that registers for ECTRIMS 2021, ECTRIMS will donate 1 EURO to the Austrian Multiple Sclerosis Research Society. Although ECTRIMS 2021 is digital this year, we still aim to leave a legacy and create a positive impact in MS research in Vienna.

Why the Multiple Sclerosis Research Society Austria?

The Multiple Sclerosis Research Society is a non-profit organization founded by the Viennese Multiple Sclerosis Society in 1992. The society helps enable and fund new research projects across Austria that focus on the development, diagnosis and therapy of multiple sclerosis.

Targeted start-up funding enabled the organization to implement various project ideas – especially from research departments at the medical universities in Austria – and to promote networking between the institutions involved.

New and important diagnostic or therapeutic methods that are not in the main interest of the pharmaceutical industry are evaluated so that they can be made available to the affected patients as quickly as possible.
