ECTRIMS 2021 Congress will be a fully digital experience
After a very careful deliberation and consideration, the ECTRIMS Executive Committee together with the congress chair have taken the necessary decision to hold this year’s congress in October as a fully digital congress.
It is the opinion of all involved parties that an in person meeting in Vienna is unfortunately unrealistic given the current status and the continuously unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic. Travel restrictions and health requirements are still uncertain and might remain in place until later this year. Therefore, the decision to move the congress to a fully digital congress was the only possible outcome.
We are now looking forward to ECTRIMS 2021 as an outstanding digital experience that provides interaction and engagement while showcasing high-quality science through presentations of many new research studies, clinical trials, and live discussions with the experts. The scientific programme committee is currently working on adapting the programme to best accommodate the needs of a digital congress and that will be available to you soon. The digital environment will also make it easier for you to meet colleagues and friends from around the globe, and view and discuss their latest developments with our industry partners.
ECTRIMS 2021 is this year’s most anticipated gathering of professionals in the field of MS and you can now take part from the comfort of your home or office and experience our new digital platform in October 2021.

Is the congress cancelled?
No. Due to the implications of the global COVID-19 outbreak, we have taken the decision to transform the Conference into a fully digital meeting. The Conference dates remain the same 13-15 October 2021.
When can I register for the congress?
The registration to the digital congress will be available in May 2021
Is group registration being offered?
Yes, group registration (min. 2 persons) will be offered and is available as of May 2021
When is the early registration deadline?
The early registration deadline is on 4th August 2021, 23h59 CEST. Register before this date and benefit from reduced registration fees.
I'm a speaker or chair at the congress, what should I do?
We will contact you directly regarding your participation in the scientific programme.
When will the scientific programme be available?
The scientific programme committee is currently working on adapting the programme to best accommodate the needs of a digital congress and that will be available to you soon.
Will the deadline for the regular abstract submission change?
No, the regular abstract submitted does not change. Regular abstracts can be submitted until Wednesday, 19 May 2021, 23:59 CET.
How will my abstract be presented at the congress?
All accepted abstracts will be presented digitally. Further information will follow via notification letters in August. Each presenter has to register to the congress to guarantee the publication of the abstract.
What happens to the hotel rooms that I had booked for my company?
